How to Happy Hour in Lake Tahoe

INCLINE VILLAGE EDITION!Here’s the best Happy Hour Menus of North Lake Tahoe.

Happy Monday everyone! It being Monday, it seems only fitting to write to you this week about Happy Hours! 😉

Lake Tahoe as a whole is one of the top outdoor recreation places in the world with endless opportunities for things to do and adventures to have. If you’re into rock climbing, Tahoe is your oyster. If you like to mountain bike, look no further. If you like snow sports, take your pick and we have it! Providing the season gives us good snow that is 😆.

You’ve undoubtedly heard the phrase “work hard, play hard” and being in Tahoe you inevitably come to embody this ethos. All of us here have our favorite places to go and hang out with friends at the end of our adventures, and if we were to cover all of Tahoe, this list could go on like a Mark Twain novel. For this week, we would like to showcase OUR top three places to get a snack and hang with friends while not breaking the bank. We are going to show you how far you can stretch a dollar in North Lake Tahoe…

Starting with the BEST AMBIENCE AND ELEGANCE FOR THE DOLLAR, we would like to introduce you to Sage Leaf!

Sage Leaf is located in the Starbucks shopping center on the corner of Village and Hwy 28 and boasts a robust Farm to Fork menu with amazing dishes hand crafted by Chef Shane and his culinary team.

Their Happy Hour is 7 days a week but only for one actual hour! Be sure to show up on time because they fill up fast at the bar and you want to be sure you secure your spot. For less than $40, two people can comfortably eat and drink and not break the bank.

Here is the highlights of what you can get:

  • For $6, you can start off with an artisanal hummus plate with roasted peppers, veggies, and garlic naan bread.
  • ALL of their wines (even nice ones) are $5 off per glass. Draft beers are 50% off and you can get $2 Jameson shots too if spirits are your preference.
  • You can get either a gourmet Smash Burger OR Nieman Ranch Bratwurst loaded dog for $10. (Or get both and make dinner out of it)

Coming in with BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, we bring you Gus’s BBQ of Incline Village!

Gus’s is located right off hwy 28 in the Ace/ Raleys shopping center in one of the older buildings of Incline and still maintains much of that rustic charm.

Gus’s specializes in BBQ and community vibe. Head upstairs to the bar when you get there and grab a seat and settle in for a solid Happy Hour offering.

From 4:30-5:30 you can enjoy samplings of their BBQ specialties, hand crafted cocktails and local beers as well. Ash and I regularly come here and get a drink and snacks for less than $20.

Check it out:

  • $2 street tacos with your choice of Gus’s famous tri tip, chicken or carnitas. Or get one of each!
  • $2 red stripe beers. Draft beer specials, discounts on wine and weekly signature cocktails as well.
  • If you like watching sports, Gus’s boasts a FULL WALL big screen tv as well.

This is where you can truly stretch your dollar for sure and have a great time too.

Coming in with BEST CRAFT BEER AND KID FRIENDLY/ MILLENNIAL VIBE we bring you Alibi Ale Works- Incline Public House!

Alibi is one of Lake Tahoe’s longest running craft breweries that boasts an impressive rotating tap list of 20+ beers crafted with water straight from the Lake. For over ten years, Alibi has been a go to destination for craft beer lovers, families and outdoor enthusiasts who just like to have fun and chill with friends over a pint.

Fun fact, ALL of Alibi’s craft beers are Gluten Reduced, coming in at 20 ppm or less, so most folks can have what they offer even if you are gluten sensitive. They did point out that this is not a medical claim and if you have larger gluten issues, they offer wine specials and ciders as well!

From 3-5 pm, 7n days a week you can come to alibi and enjoy a full Happy Hour menu with specials ranging from Pizzas and Wings to Pretzels and Salads.

Here are our top tips to maximize your dollar at alibi:

  • $5 pimento and cheese stuffed pretzels!
  • $2 off select Alibi favorites like their signature mustache pretzel.
  • 4 oz classic slider or large Midwest taco $6
  • Select draft beer specials. Average is about $6 per pint. PLEASE NOTE, Alibi serves FULL PINTS, not 12 oz bar glasses. You get proper pours here.

We could go on and on as you know, but after our time in Tahoe, these are our top choices from this season. All places and specials change with the seasons, but so far these have been our favorites. We hope you get out there and enjoy them too!

Cheers!
